Specialised hands-on therapies that work with you and your scar to reduce pain, restore mobility and support lasting recovery.
Curious as to how my own 14″ nephrectomy scar was impacting my body, I attended Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork™ course in 2017.
What was discovered completely shocked me and it was the catalyst to educate myself in this bodywork and then go on to specialise in this area.
So how can this work help you…by looking at you and your scar as a whole.
I observe your movement, breathing and unconscious blocks, feel how your scar behaves both at rest and in movement, and use a range of gentle, specialised techniques tailored to your unique scar and needs.
By observing your movement, breathing and potential unconscious blocks that may have occurred around your scar and ability to move freely, without fear or restriction.
Reducing the sensations of pulling, tethering and pain. Whilst encouraging the return of sensation, improved blood and lymph flow.
Through palpation, by feeling how your scar and damaged tissue behaves. When you are stationary and when you move in an everyday functional way.
Improving skin texture as creases, lumps and bumps, and atrophic tissue becomes more even. Aiding discolouration and a more even skin temperature.
Through a plethora of gentle scar tissue techniques, that adapt to the type of scar tissue you present with. Helping to promote the tissue to become softer and aid better reintegration with the surrounding tissues. Knowing your treatment is specific to your needs.
Utilising Deep Oscillation Therapy, gentle Scar Cupping for a negative pressure approach and Scar Taping to support hands-on care.

In 2018 I encountered two women during my time in Sarajevo, as a volunteer scar therapist for charity, treating civilians caught up in the Bosnian war. These incredible human beings changed the meaning of what scar therapy was really about for me..
One who sustained a bomb-blast to the side of her head as an adolescent girl. The second left with a legacy of pain after a sniper wound went through her abdomen, leaving her unable to walk, stand or digest food without pain.
What this therapy did for them has left me in awe of this work, no pain, recovery of sensation and a sense of wholeness, despite the injury being 20 years ago.
Returning back home, I then continued my volunteer work with the sister charity, the UK Forces Project, treating serving and ex-serving men and women who had sustained injury through active service.
My quest to learn more about scars and their implications on many levels continues, training in MSTR®, as a Restore Scar Therapy Practitioner and advancing my training in Restore Specialist Oncology Scar Therapy, with other scar therapy training in the pipeline.
We're here to support you every step of the way.
